I got my band and light that won’t go out

This is my first tattoo, which I just got on the Fourth of July when I went to the shop with my best friend. Lyrics from the song Now off the self titled album.
I got it as a kind of reminder to myself that no matter how shitty things get, I’m still here and that’s all I need to prove that I’m winning, against depression, anxiety and panic attacks, and self harm, which is why I got it on the side of my left arm where a majority of my self harm scars are. But I also got these lyrics specifically as a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay, it’s alright not to win every battle because there are times that you won’t win no matter what anyway, but it doesn’t mean you’ve failed, not yourself or anyone else, so you shouldn’t feel ashamed of it because it’s only natural.
I also got it written in my best friend’s handwriting because I felt like it would mean more to me every time I saw it if it felt like he’s the one that wrote it on my arm rather than myself. I keep promises to other people better than I keep them to myself, and he means more than the world to me and I love him to pieces and he knows first hand what all this feels like too, so this is my promise to him to never give up and to “win the war.” :)

So i FINALLY got my paramore tattoo done. I’ve loved paramore since I was 13 so I got this tattoo as a thank you for everything they’ve helped me get through and as a reminder of how far I’ve come. I’ve struggled through self harm for going on 9 years now and honestly don’t know if I would still be here if it wasn’t for paramore. I couldn’t be happier with the way this tattoo turned out and I can’t wait to meet them in august and get yelyahwilliams autograph tattooed as well. I owe them my life honestly, and I don’t think I can ever explain how much their music has helped me. Thank you guys so much, I love you :)
